Four Winns Debuts Their First Power Catamaran
TH36 – Four Winns Entering the Power Catamaran Market
This TH36 model is the first of its kind to be released by the Four Winns company. Their entry into the power catamaran market has just begun. The teamwork between the Italian and French partners is evident in this design. With the goal of appealing to its target demographic, the catamaran is made to be functional and livable. To challenge the monopoly of one firm providing America with one brand of 36-foot catamarans, they are releasing this innovative TH36.

More On the Four Winns Power Catamaran
Twin outboard motors with 300 hp each will be standard on the TH36, with twin Mercury Verados with 350 horsepower available as an upgrade. All power options feature joystick docking control. In order to give the TH36 a unique appearance on the water, Four Winns worked with the Italian design studio Garroni Design. The business and French naval architect and catamaran expert Marc Lombard collaborated to create the TH36’s smart and effective hull form. This boat is the first of a series that will flawlessly fit in with the Four Winns brand.
From watersports to cruising, from lake to salt waters, we want every boater to enjoy the Four Winns refinement, and benefit from our new technologies.Four Winns brand director, Nick Harvey
These are just a few of the highlights of this spectacular new build by Four Winns. In the coming years, it will be interesting to see how they develop and innovate with this power catamaran.

Outboards With a Microplastic Collection Device
Suzuki has begun production of the world’s first outboard motor that collects microplastic pieces in the ocean as it runs. The initiative to develop such a design for their motors is a part of Suzuki’s Clean Ocean Project. Five mid-size outboard motors with this attachment are being made at the moment. Worldwide shipments of the engines will be made, notably to important markets in North America and Europe. “Since 2010, Suzuki Motor Corporation has been voluntarily conducting the ‘Clean-up the World Campaign’ essentially a collection of organised clean-up activities in seas, rivers, lakes, and ponds where the outboard motors are used” (www.suzukimarine.com/clean-ocean-project).
How Does It Work?
Select Suzuki outboard models with 40 hp and more are said to have the device installed under the cowling, and installation is said to be simple. The device filters water after it has pass through the engines cooling system before it is returned to the ocean. According to Suzuki, the system’s design ensures that it has no negative effects on the engine’s cooling capacity or performance while driving.
Is It Effective?
The device successfully collected microplastics in the oceans after extensive testing in Japan. Further improvements will be made based on more findings after continued use. The filtering system has already shown that it can capture many different types of microparticle pollution, including urethane, nylon, and wood chips, among other things.

The Dangers of Microplastics
The risks that these tiny pieces of debris, commonly known as microplastics, pose to fish, marine animals, and other aquatic life are well known to marine biologists and the scientific community. This is a problem that extends beyond national borders and is negatively affecting our oceans. It will need a collaborative effort from the business sector, the scientific community, and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world to solve this issue. The Suzuki outboards that collect microplastics are a huge step in the positive direction to helping conserve oceans.

Overview of SUZUKI CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT
1. Clean-Up the World Campaign
A volunteer waterside clean-up campaign by Suzuki Group employees and partners, conducted from 2011. Until March 2022, 53 distributors and more than 10,000 people worldwide have participated in total. From this year we will expand and further continue the campaign.
2. Reduce plastic packaging
Suzuki aims to reduce the plastic packaging for outboard motors and genuine parts, under the keywords “1) Can we stop using it? 2) Can we reduce the amount? 3) Can we replace it with materials of less environmental impact?”. Since its start in October 2020, we have avoided using over 11t in plastic packaging. We aim to further reduce plastics in 2022 by increasing the number of applicable products and genuine parts.
3. Collect marine-plastic waste (equipment of the Micro-Plastic Collecting Device)
Suzuki aims for the further improvement of marine environment and the realization of a sustainable society, by promoting the SUZUKI CLEAN OCEAN PROJECT, along with our customers all over the world.www.suzukimarine.com/news
NauticStar Acquired by Iconic Marine Group
The acquisition of NauticStar by Iconic Marine Group has been officially announced by the company MasterCraft. IMG wants to continue operating NauticStar as usual while eliminating any liabilities with the acquisition. With the release of MasterCraft’s annual 2022 financial report, which showed MasterCraft reported consolidated net sales of $707.9 million, the company underwent this shift. According to IBI, the increases were attributed to a combination of higher unit volumes, a favorable model mix, and increased selling prices. This represents a 34.6% year-over-year revenue increase. Both businesses will benefit from a bright future following MasterCraft sells NauticStar.
MasterCraft Sells NauticStar
CEO of MasterCraft
“The sale of the NauticStar business to Iconic Marine Group will better position MasterCraft to drive profitable growth. I am confident that focusing on our MasterCraft, Crest and Aviara brands will drive enhanced value for MasterCraft shareholders, and that NauticStar will benefit from a new strategic owner dedicated to the future success of the brand. I want to thank NauticStar’s employees, who have a new home at Iconic Marine Group, for their hard work and dedication to quality and craftsmanship for our customers. We wish them success in the future.”Fred Brightbill, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of MasterCraft Boat Holdings
Future of MasterCraft
The future is bright for Master Craft as they announce their forecast earnings for 2023 are in between $580 million and $615 million in revenue. Brightbill commented on MasterCraft’s future; “If our business performs to the lower end of our guidance range, we will deliver the second-best year in the history of our company, in terms of both revenue and earnings,” said Brightbill. “Our flexible business model will allow us to maximize our wholesale performance and to generate outstanding financial results should retail demand outpace our expectations. Should retail demand continue to slow, the guidance we’ve provided reflects flexibility to ensure that we can defend our market share while maintaining strong profitability”.
Fountain, Donzi, and Baja performance boats are just a few of the well-known brands that are housed by NauticStar, which is part of the parent company Iconic Marine Group. This transition allows for the MasterCraft business to concentrate on our Mastercraft, Crest, and Avira brands and make sure that they are allocating resources where they will provide the most value for our shareholders. This was a calculated move by MasterCraft to leave the market for saltwater fishing boats.

How Long Can You Finance A Boat
You’ve decided it’s best to research financing options for the boat you hope to buy soon. The majority of individuals decide to finance their boat, although there are different lengths of boat loans. How long can you finance a boat is a subject that is sure to come up as you weigh your loan alternatives, interest rates, and loan amounts. The specific circumstances will determine the number of years a boat can be financed. Allow us to provide an overview so you may better grasp the terms of boat loans.
Average Length of Boat Loans
The value of the boat you decide to finance determines the typical period of the loan. The length of the loan will increase with the value of the boat. It is likely that you will qualify for a loan period of up to 10–20 years if you are financing a boat that is less than 15 years old. On the other hand, if the vessel you want is older, the lender might offer you a cheaper interest rate because of that.
$15-25k: 10-12 years
$25-50k: 15 years
$50-100k: 15-20 years
$100k+: 20 years
Set up a time to speak with your financial advisor or marine lending specialist to get the best advice to make a sound decision.
Factors Affecting Boat Loan Terms
The five factors that affect the terms of your boat loan are the size of the down payment, the loan amount, the age of the boat, your debt to income ratio, and your personal preference. The larger your down payment, the lower your monthly payments will be, just as with a vehicle or house loan. Your interest rate is influenced by your credit score, therefore having a high score is advantageous.
Why Choosing A Shorter Loan is Better
A shorter term reduces the overall interest paid, bringing your final price closer to the initial purchase price. If you are able to make slightly larger monthly payments on a shorter-term loan, you may be able to receive lower rates and be more likely to keep ahead of depreciation, so you are not upside down on the vessel.

Innovation that excites the movement to reduce our carbon footprint
The reality of a fossil-free future is not impossible but in fact, being worked towards. Yacht designers all over are creating the world’s most eco-friendly yachts, that have amazing features. Superyachts are becoming more environmentally friendly because of advancements in marine architecture and design. Let’s explore more closely at the technological advancements seen in some of the environmentally conscious boats currently roaming the seas.
Some but not all of the world’s most eco-friendly yachts
This stunning superyacht named, Artefact contains a massive battery storage system, solar panels, and a wastewater recycling system, allowing the yacht to occasionally run totally without internal combustion engines. Due to its complete silence while operating, you might only be able to tell how big this yacht is from 80 meters. Custom six-bladed propellers and substantial soundproofing ensure that there is a minimum amount of noise. You can expect to save 30% on energy and emissions because of it’s hybrid diesel-electric system.
This 2940GT all-aluminum tri-hull is another silent traveler. As the boat accelerated, ultra-quiet recordings were made in the lower cabins. This is commendable considering the White Rabbit is the largest trimaran in the world. A vessel of this size is bound to make noise when traveling, thus it’s impressive that it only recorded a sound at a low 40db.

This superyacht was constructed by Oceanco Yachts with a hybrid propulsion system that allows for a silent electric mode and allows her to use 30% less fuel than other motor yachts of a similar size. In order to operate and perform at her best, she also has an integrated battery and a waste heat recovery system. Jerry Jones, best known for owning the Dallas Cowboys, is the owner of this magnificent superyacht.
(Source: BOAT International)
One of the first yachts on the water, Solo complied with Tier III criteria set forth by the International Maritime Organization to control emissions and water pollution. The RINA society’s highest degree of environmental certification, the Green Plus Platinum designation, was also given to the environmentally friendly superyacht. This is only one of several awards that this super yacht has received. You previously had the opportunity to acquire this magnificent vessel, but it has since been sold and is being used by its new owners.
